For Facebook’s Cornell Camp Hackathon 2011, Gautam Kamath, Jasdeep Hundal, Harry Terkelsen and I hacked together Plannit. With nearly 24 hours of straight coding, drinking orange soda, noming on fruit snacks, and debugging nebulous Django code, we won 2nd place overall at Cornell!
Plannit is a web app accessible from your mobile device that helps you reach consensus on a night out. You and a group of friends make an “plan” and invite each other to your plan for the night. So after you start Plannit!, it’s time to PreferIt! Each buddy submits a preference for what they want to do, e.g., go bowling, chinese food, rock concert, etc. Once everyone has submitted a preference, Plannit uses your geo location and advanced algorithms to decide the most fun, closest venue/event for you and your friends to attend. Never face indecision again.
